Overview

Message from the Conference Co-Chairs:

We are writing to provide you with an update and clarity on the status and direction of the “1st International Conference on Advances in Welding and Additive Manufacturing Research.”

As you all know, we have been facing a global crisis with the coronavirus pandemic for over a year now. As a result, many events have been affected as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued guidelines including travel restrictions, social distancing and additional safety protocols to help control the outbreak. Because AWAMR is an International Conference and the health and safety of our industry peers is our highest priority, we have decided to postponed the event until June 12-17, 2022 – still being held in Miami, FL.

We understand these are uncertain times, but we invite you with great pleasure to participate in this conference. It is intended to be equal in quality and stature to previous Trends in Welding Research conferences that have taken place for the last 30+ years and developed by the same lead organizer, Stan David. This five-day technically intensive conference will focus on activities related to both basic and applied research in science and technology of welding and additive manufacturing. A group of renowned researchers will serve on the International Organizing Committee for the conference, while a slate of distinguished speakers, will give keynote addresses to all attendees each morning and afternoon. In addition, you will have opportunity on several occasions through the exhibition hall and various planned recessions to network with leading scientists and engineers from around the world.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience in terms of the date change. We look forward to seeing you in Miami!

Sincerely,
Drs. Stan A. David, Zhili Feng, Thomas J. Lienert
