All cancellations MUST BE IN WRITING. If you cancel 35 DAYS PRIOR to the conference you will receive a refund of 50%. If you cancel from 34 DAYS to 3 DAYS PRIOR to the conference you will receive a refund of 10%. NO REFUNDS will be given 3 DAYS or less prior to the conference.

Disruptive Opportunities in Light Structure Joining and Design
New approaches to design and manufacture can reduce aircraft weight and cost while improving durability. New technologies for solid state joining and component fabrication will be detailed including deployable methods of impact welding, conformal joining and metamorphic manufacturing. The key challenge will be in accepting and qualifying new practices. This is a challenge shared by other emerging technologies such as additive manufacturing.

Edison Joining TourThis 136,000 sq. ft. center is located on the west side of campus and hosts The Ohio State University’s Welding Engineering program, part of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the EWI corporate headquarters and laboratory. The OSU portion of the center houses faculty offices, classrooms, laboratories and is home to the Manufacturing and Materials Joining Innovation Center (Ma2JIC). The EWI portion of the building includes offices, client meeting rooms, full-sized laboratories and a state-of-the-art high bay, all of which houses $20 million in capital equipment covering a broad range of materials joining and additive manufacturing technologies.
