Overview
You signed a hard money contract with fixed schedule dates. You can’t get plate, pipe, fittings, or weld metal. What do you do?
This conference will give you the information and facts as to deal with the “whys” if you cannot fulfill your obligations and the “hows” of what you can do to avoid as many problems as possible. As the global economy adjusts back to pre-pandemic levels, the supply chain crisis will continue to disrupt most industries. Join us for the Supply Chain Challenges for the Welding Industry virtual conference, where subject matter experts will share out-of-the-box solutions to get through the current challenges.
During this one-day mini-conference, topics will include navigating the current logistics market and operational challenges, best practices for fabricators and their customers, project and program management challenges and solutions, and much more. Attendees will also learn new ways of becoming resourceful, expanding their network, and considering moving towards a collaborative contracting direction.
Register to attend today to learn how to increase profitability, minimize disruption, and make the most of your procurements.

Boccard Pipe Fabricators
Read Bio
Michael got his start in the industry as a field expediter for a small pipe fabrication and construction company. While working, he successfully completed the pipe fabrication and welding programs with the local Associated Builders and Contractors School. He later transitioned to the fabrication shop where he held multiple roles as a Journeyman Pipe Fabricator, Journeyman Combination Welder, Welding Supervisor, Quality Control Inspector and held American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI) and National Association of Corrosion Engineers Level 2 (NACE Level 2) certifications.
He ultimately moved into a Project Engineer role, where, in support of a large multi-billion-dollar refinery expansion project, was recruited to join an engineering procurement and construction firm as their Pipe Fabrication Manager/Subject Matter Expert. He later joined an Oil & Gas owner company to manage their pipe and steel program. With over 25 years in multiple roles, Michael has global procurement and contract management experience on domestic and international capital projects from fabricator, EPC and Owner perspectives. His diverse background in fabrication, welding, quality control, engineering, and supply chain operations have enabled him to serve as a key member on multi-discipline supply chain teams achieving optimized project execution.
Michael is a graduate of LSU (Bachelors of General Studies) and lives in Sugar Land, Texas with his wife. He is an avid golfer, equestrian trail rider, cyclist and kayaker.

Welding Supply Chain Interruptions, Now What do You Do?William F. Newell, Jr. PE, Peng, IWE
Euroweld, Ltd.
Presentation Overview
Even before industry experienced downturns and supply interruptions from COVID-19, there were signs that some previously available commodity and specialty weld metals were beginning to become in short supply and minimum order quantities were escalating to absurd levels. Slow moving or “commercially insignificant” items were just discontinued. This is especially problematic where products do not have an AWS or international classification and even intelligent substitutions are not an option. The severity of the issue varies with industry and is compounded by interruption in shipping by sea, truck or air. Petrochemical is typically affected more than the power industry or other industries. This presentation examines the issues and offers examples and options to consider for minimizing the effect.

Project Pipe Shop Fabrication: Best Practices for Fabricators and Their Customers

Mike Minvielle
Presentation Overview
The procurement and fabrication of shop fabricated pipe spools is many times an underestimated work process for capital projects, fraught with stubborn work process ineffiencies that affect both the buyer and the seller. Our two presenters will share perspectives from both the pipe fabricator’s point of view, and their customers’ point of view (typically the EPC Contractor), focusing on best practices, improvements, and collaborative steps that can be taken by projects to increase profitability and minimize disruption.
